Sketch for my current project. Shou from Alice Nine.

I also wanted to check something out with this. I've realized in the past that my sketches get views and favs and that once I post the finalized portrait... it doesn't get any... I know my paintings are not the greatest but I believe they do look a bit better then the original sketches I used for them o.O

It kinda makes me worry that I'm working so much for nothing if people appreciate the work I spend 10-15 min on more then the ones I spend 30-40 hours on... -.-

This picture caught my eye as it popped up in "newest". After reading your comment to it, I decided to take your question seriously and browsed through your gallery. Here is my answer to you:
What strikes me is that this drawing is very vivid. Seeing as I haven't seen any other drawings of yours, I have to assume they are all done in this manner. The lines you've drawn are so delicate and sensitive, it feels like you've channeled love through every one of them.
Your paintings on the other hand, are technically good. I swear, I thought many of them were edited photos at first. But what they lack is that soul that shines through this very drawing. They seem too perfect, and there is no warmth in them.
I'm sorry you take it as a bad thing that people like your drawings. And I hope you don't get offended because of what I've said. I think you need to find a way to channel that love through the paintings as well, and not let it get lost over those 30-40 hours of work.

Thank you for the comment. And I am not offended in the least. It's actually really nice to hear. Most of my sketches have been moved to scraps or just deleted later on cause I use them only as referenced to finish my paintings and never thought they showed much more emotions.
Thanks for taking the time to look and answer my question. I guess I still have much to learn. I've been drawing since I was a child but painting is something new and I guess I was letting myself being too concerned about the technical side and making them look real to think about the emotion side... Thanks for making me realize that. I'll try hard not to forget that again ^-^
